The best part of the moving business is the people that we get to meet while we are moving their furniture and possessions. We as a Jenks Mover get to see all kinds of different houses, big and small and all sizes in between, as well as new construction and older-sometimes run down homes where maintenance has been deferred.  We also go into brand new luxury apartments as well as the much less expensive apartments that are also, much less luxury, let’s just say. As a Jenks Mover we meet elderly couples, widows, young couples, and singles of all different ages and backgrounds, education levels, socioeconomic levels and sometimes different cultures.  There are more variations in the people that we meet than there are variations of furniture.  Furniture mainly falls into traditional, transitional, rustic, industrial and modern categories.  Some of it is inexpensive and many times it is very expensive.  Bigger houses have bigger furniture, whereas smaller houses and apartments have smaller sized furniture.   However expensive or inexpensive the clients furniture is, it is their furniture and they value it, so we handle their furniture with care. So, even though we are a Jenks Mover company that moves furniture everyday, we remind our team that sometimes this is the clients first move and to see the move through the clients perspective, and that we can never be too careful.  We never sacrifice care for speed, meaning that we will only go as fast as we can and still be careful.  We just don’t break stuff, it is so rare, and if so it is almost always because the furniture was already broken or damaged.  We try to point out any damage before we even touch it, just to make sure that the client knows before we move it. It protects us from being blamed for something we didn’t do.

The journey to their new home we realize may involve letting go of some of the things they have accumulated through the years and so we are there also to help with this process.  Maybe it is downsizing and if so, then going from a large home to a smaller home involves not taking some furniture or accessories or items that will overcrowd their new home. We are committed to helping in this process which can involve the transport of any items they may decide to donate or throw away. We as a Jenks Mover respect this part of the journey to their new home and are willing to be a part of this process if they need us for hauling off items and doing so in a way that will bring them peace and relief to take care of these items which can be overwhelming to clients. I’ve come to the conclusion that what we see on the news isn’t reality, at least not the reality that we experience with the people we meet.  On the news we see riots, and all kinds of hate and violence, whereas the people that we meet that hire us for their moving seem to be the best people that we could ever hope to meet.  Perhaps that is somewhat attributable to the skills people acquire in their development?  Being nice and kind is a skill, even if a person is not genuinely nice and kind.  People that earn or make more money have mostly developed better skills and/or have worked long and hard to make the money to buy the nice things that they own.  This process of hard work that involves some pain and suffering seems to always soften them up and make them nicer people.  Either way we get to meet the nicest people.  I’ve had women ask me in advance how many people are going to be on the job, just so they can bring enough food for everyone to eat for lunch.  It truly is amazing how nice some people can be.  It results in us trying all the harder to give them an awesome moving experience.  Some very kind people have actually called us “Team Awesome,” and when they do we want to try to live up to their words.  Words really do seem to form or create the reality we experience.  So, onward and upward to the next move.  We are so excited to be a part of an awesome experience moving.
